HOW DOES THE LOCK SYSTEM WORK?
Use your Eternity Lock software to set up each employee's iButton. Each iButton has an individual code number so you can give different employees' iButtons different levels of access. You can set times of entry, specific locks, etc..., for each iButton and track the lock's use by employee.

Unsnap your "Program iButton" - an enhanced iButton - from its receptor at your personal computer and touch it to each lock. The iButton setup information is transferred to the lock's memory.

Hand out the iButtons to your employees and that's it - the locks are ready to operate! And one iButton can replace an entire ring of keys!

Want to track the lock's use? Touch your "Program iButton" to the lock, then snap it into the receptor at your PC. With a few clicks of your mouse, you'll see which employee used the lock and when he or she used it.

POSSIBLE USES FOR ETERNITY LOCKS

Allow employees access to a room or storage area only during work hours or at specific times.

Give service employees (repairmen, etc...) one-time access to your facility or access only on the dates and times you specify.

The ability to track who accessed which lock and when your premises were entered. Customers will find this feature useful after a break in, particularly if there are no signs of forcible entry. You would then be able to determine if an employee had entered your premises at an unusual time.

If an employee leaves the company and doesn't return his or her iButton, simply program the lock to delete their access. The system provides instant security without the need to call a locksmith to re-key the lock and purchase new keys for your other employees.

WHAT'S AN 'iButton'?

The iButton is an electronic chip encased in a watertight stainless steel "can" smaller than a dime. The "can" is attached to a plastic keyfob that fits a keychain. Each iButton has a unique ID number, which is detected by the lock when the employee taps his or her button to it. The iButton has a far longer life than magstripe cards - it's guaranteed for 10 years and works as well in dirty environments as it does in offices - and employees don't feel as fearful about a loss of privacy as they do with biometric systems.
